
3.2 Game pieces and setup

Game Pieces
In addition to the deck, the game will require:
- 75 silver Coin chips
- 75 blue Luck chips
- 60 green Grit chips
- 20 red Injury chips
- 7 assorted white Difficulty chips ( -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3)
- 20 black Woe chips
- a Dealer's screen
- the six character Playbooks
- a Posse Logbook
- pencils and erasers

Session Setup
After players have generated their characters (See Creating the Posse), the deck is shuffled and each player is dealt a number of cards equal to their character’s Will rating (between 1 and 10). Players each also take:
- one silver (Coin) chip equal to their character’s Coin rating
- one green (Grit) chip equal to their character’s Grit rating
- one blue (Luck) chip chip equal to their character’s Luck rating
- their character playbook
The Dealer takes:
- the Dealer's screen
- one each of the white Difficulty chips (-3, -2, -1,-1, 0, 1, 1, 2, 3)
- one black Woe chip equal to the current session number plus one (so two at the start the campaign’s first session, three at the start of the second session, and so on), plus one additional Woe chip per player in the posse
- the posse logbook and pencil
Keep the deck and all remaining chips in the center of the table and easily within reach of all players and the Dealer. including the Red (Injury) chips.
